These buzzy nuisances are responsible for tremendous illness and widespread disease—not to mention, their bites are itchy, painful, and can easily become infected. All of this, and their sheer annoyance, means you need ways to cut down on the number of mosquitoes in your yard this summer. And here’s how.
Sprinkle Coffee Grounds in Standing Water to Deprive Mosquito Eggs of Oxygen and Nutrients
Coffee grounds are dense but expansive and absorbent, allowing them to naturally circulate and cleanse standing water for the time that they’re fresh. As for the eggs, the coffee grounds will soak in all of the oxygen and nutrients in water, which then suffocates the eggs before they have a chance to hatch.
